Jarvis Metals Recycling has a zero tolerance policy for any radioactive scrap. We will not accept any scrap that has been contaminated by radioactive elements. To insure this policy is maintained, a sophisticated proximity radiation detection system, scans each scrap load that enters our yard for processing. In addition, scrap loads that contain medical equipment, measuring gauges from manufacturing facilities, or oil-drilling operations are subjected to additional scrutiny by use of a hand held detector. Any load that does report a radiation level above normal background levels is rejected in whole from being accepted.

Scrap Paper
Jarvis Metals Recycling Inc. purchases scrap paper which is graded, baled and made mill-ready for shipment. We accept many different grades of paper:
